OLDFIELD– Funeral services for Leslie Charles "Barney" Oldfield, 90, will be held 2PM Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the chapel at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL with Father Dan Nelson officiating. Leslie was born on February 20, 1920 in Middletown, New York to Jennie Elizabeth Brand and Reuben Francis Oldfield and died on July 25, 2010 in Orange Park, FL. Mr. Oldfield served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired after many years of distinguished service. He went on to work for Civil Service at N.A.S. Jax. Leslie was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church for over 40 years. Mr. Oldfield was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Felix Oldfield in 1986, and his loving wife of 60 years, Ellen Christina Duke Oldfield in 2007. He is survived by three sons, John Oldfield (Elizabeth), Donald Oldfield (Barbara), and William Oldfield (Catherine); six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends. Family will receive friends on Wednesday (TODAY) from 6PM-8PM at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME.
